1. Who we are
Animate My Storybook ("AMS", "we", "us") is an independent animation studio based in Kingston, Jamaica, operated by Vivian "Quil" Thomas. We work with children's-book authors and publishers worldwide to produce cinematic trailers, animated films, and franchise IP from existing manuscripts.

2. What we collect
We only collect information you give us directly. Specifically:
- Inquiry-form data: name, email, optional phone or WhatsApp number, book title, package preference, and the project details / launch goals you choose to include.
- Booking data: if you book a discovery call, your name, email, time zone, and any pre-call notes you submit (handled by Calendly).
- Payment data: if you purchase the $497 Storybook Trailer or another package, the buyer name, email, and transaction reference (handled by PayPal — we never see your full card number).
- Project material: book manuscripts, illustrations, audio, brand references, and any files you choose to share with us once a project starts.
- Site analytics: standard Google Analytics 4 page-view, source, and device data so we can understand how the site is being used. We do not sell this data.
3. How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry and scope your project.
- To schedule, prepare for, and follow up after a discovery call.
- To deliver the work you commissioned and bill or refund correctly.
- To keep records as required for tax and dispute resolution.
- To improve the website (aggregate analytics only).
We do not use your data for behavioral advertising, do not sell or rent your information to third parties, and do not add you to a marketing list without explicit opt-in.
4. Your manuscripts & story material
This matters more than anything else on this page, so we'll be plain:
Your book is your book. When you share a manuscript, synopsis, character bible, or other story material with us — whether through the inquiry form, email, WhatsApp, or a shared drive — we treat it as confidential, commercial information belonging to you. We use it only to scope, propose, or produce the specific project we are discussing with you. We do not publish it, share it with other clients, post it on social media, or use it to train any third-party AI model. If you choose not to move forward, we delete your manuscript materials on request (see Section 7).
5. Third-party processors we use
To run the business we rely on a small number of reputable providers. Each processes only the data needed for its function, under its own privacy policy:
We do not knowingly use any other processors that receive your personal information.
6. A note on children's data
Although our work is created for child audiences, our inquiry form is intended for authors and other adults. Please do not submit a child's personal information (name, photo, email) through any AMS form unless you have explicit legal authority to do so and there is a clear project reason for it. If you accidentally submit a child's personal data, contact us and we will delete it on receipt.
7. Retention & deletion
- Inquiry data that does not become a project: kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Project data (active and completed projects): kept for as long as we need it to deliver the project, support you afterwards, and meet our tax/legal obligations (typically 7 years for invoicing records).
- Manuscript material from declined or paused projects: deleted on request, or automatically within 12 months of the last contact.
- Analytics: Google Analytics retention is set to the default 14 months.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time by writing to hello@animatemystorybook.com.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you have the right to ask us:
- What information we hold about you
- To correct anything that is wrong
- To delete your information (subject to our legal/tax record-keeping obligations)
- To stop processing your information for any reason
- To receive a copy of your information in a portable format
We respond to requests within 30 days. If you believe we have mishandled your data and you live in a jurisdiction with a data-protection authority (UK ICO, EU DPAs, California AG, etc.), you have the right to complain to that authority.
